A great community with staying power is always evolving, and that’s the scene at Amelia National Golf & Country Club, one of ICI Homes’ signature properties.
The master-planned community with Fernandina Beach’s best address begins its THIRD decade of welcoming new residents who seek a new custom Florida home in a custom environment.
Amelia National opened in spring 2005, with its centerpiece Tom Fazio-designed golf course opening in 2006, and it’s all going strong. There’s always something new here for current and future Amelia National residents, whether it’s upgraded amenities, new infrastructure, or simply tasty new menus at the community’s French Provincial clubhouse.
There also are plenty of new homesites and custom Florida homes awaiting their first owners in this gated community only a few miles from its historic hometown and Amelia Island beaches.
Here’s some of the “new” at Amelia National.
The particulars
Amelia National sits along Amelia National Parkway just south of State Road 200. It’s a convenient location thanks to Interstate 95 to the west and S.R. 200 continuing east to Fernandina Beach and Amelia Island, both top Florida resort destinations.
Along with the golf course, Amelia National residents can enjoy the clubhouse’s vibrant social and dining scenes, a full fitness center, and sundeck and resort-style swimming pool outside.
The clubhouse overlooks both the golf course’s 18th hole, and the eight-court Har-Tru tennis center that opened in 2015.
The golf course, even better
Amelia National’s Tom Fazio golf course already was renowned as one of Florida’s best, having hosted many state and regional tournaments in addition to member play throughout its first two decades.
But a $15 million renovation that began in March 2025 and was complete by November of the same year has made it positively glow. Overseen by Fazio Design, the renovation refreshed the overall course, refining greens and enhancing the playability of an already enjoyable experience.
New second gated entrance
Access, granted!
Amelia National is a big place; master-planned communities must be to contain 18-hole golf courses. And it’s still growing with new homesites being released and new custom Florida homes to be built.
As the community expands south and west through multiple new phases of development, a second entrance gives residents another option. The main entrance at the north end of Amelia Concourse Parkway also marks the north end of the community’s main street — Amelia National Parkway.
Now, Amelia National Parkway connects to the southern part of Amelia Concourse Parkway with a new residents-only gate. Construction began in early 2024 and included definitive landscaping and hardscaping. Visitors will continue to stop at Amelia National’s main gate.
